Dean & Carlos, I followed Dean's suggestion on simplifying the connection string (I knew it was too complex for embedded but it had worked for 1.5). When I tried to use the connectionstringbuilder, I discovered what I think is some "version skew" so I am reinstalling FB2 and making sure there are no old files hanging around. I will report back.
