Hmm... How ever, firebird comes from Borland Interbase, so there should be greate support in Delphi....Using Borland Data Provider isn't possible to register new server?
There is a branch of the Firebird ADO.NET provider that creates a BDP provider for Firebird. However, Carlos has mentioned he has discontinued this source maintenance.
I would expect that in D2007 the standard approach will be to use the standard ADO.NET Provider architecture, primarily because I've seen mention of the Bdp perhaps being cancelled out in favour of DBX4 & standard ADO.NET provider approaches instead.
This may well mean better IDE support in the future releases, but that's all I know from gossip.
I have used the Bdp provider for firebird, but far rather use the ADO.NET one by default in Delphi, and to be honest I've never used the Data Explorer (granted, I favour the ECO world, but that's a different story), but then you can read any C#/VB DataAdapter code, and perform the same operations in Delphi.net
I'm sorry I can't help on the Database Explorer side, but I will try to have a look later today at it to see if I can come up with an option for you.
Kind regards, Scott :)
