Hi David For example, today I had to solve an issue in fib (delphi) concerning parameters with the transaction. To clearify the danger, isc_tpb_lock_timeout has value 21 in firebird. In interbase 7.5 this means "no_savepoint". Firebird and interbase might share a history, but have seperated allready a decade ago. I know for sure, I just checked Jiri's code, he's not supporting the interbase behaviour.
Even if it works, you are on thin ice. Talk to embarcadero, make them send 20K$ to Jiri and I'm pretty sure, he will help you out Kind regards Alexander From: David Clegg Sent: Monday, September 21, 2009 11:01 PM To: 'For users and developers of the Firebird .NET providers' Subject: Re: [Firebird-net-provider] Using the .NET providerwithInterbasedatabases I already do use the Embarcadero driver, but it only has 32 bit support, and I am in a position where I need to deploy access from a bunch of 64 bit servers. I can configure the web apps to run in a 32 bit worker process, but I am looking to avoid that if possible. Who knows... It is for sure not designed to work with Interbase. Ask Embarcadero for an appropriate driver for interbase. They have their own. kind regards Alexander From: David Clegg Sent: Monday, September 21, 2009 10:17 PM To: firebird-net-provider@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: [Firebird-net-provider] Using the .NET provider with Interbasedatabases Is it possible to use the Firebird .NET provider with Interbase databases at all (in my case, I need to talk to an Interbase 2009 database)? All my attempts so far have failed, with an exception being raised on connection when the database version is attempted to be read.
