Have you tried using a database alias instead of the absolute path ?
Actually I'm using with success something like this :
FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient.FbConnection cb = new
FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient.FbConnection("character
set=WIN1252;datasource=192.168.0.1;initial
catalog=AliasDatabase;userid=SYSDBA;password=masterkey;pooling=true")
Running fine on WinCE, WinMobile 5,6
