Hi,

The error I am getting inside the ide connection designer is "invalid type".
I did try to remove the ";role=;" part from the connection string.
Other people who looked at the connection string said everything looks right.

From my previous post:

I am using visual studio 2013 community edition on 32 bit windows 7 prof.
The firebird is a local firebird server - either Superserver or
SuperClassic, I'm not sure.
Also 32 bit.
I initially used the 4.7 provider and upgraded to the 4.8 provider but
there was no
difference.
I am using the 3.02 ddex plugin for visual studio.
I have never used the enitity framework in dot net.
I only know how to use datasets.
It happens when I try to set up a dataset connection inside the ide,
not at runtime.
I hope I'm not wasting your time.

Thanks

H.F.
