Agreed , talking to the DB from the mobile app is not the way to go. This is why I tried to implement a HTTP server that the device talks to. The issue I had was that the device could never connect to the PCs ip address. I could never get the network config to work despite days and days of searching. Finding other ppl with the same issue, but never a solution. This was with a USB tethered / ActiveSync setup. With Wifi it wont be an issue.
