You get the same effect from the "SSD Cache" features present on some (a growing number) of disk controllers. By teaming a SSD with an HDD (or array) you would essentially have an entire database in the SSD for read-only operations while having the safety of HDD storage. So, let's leave it to hardware to solve this problem, and keep Firebird out of it. Sean
