Thank you Alexey, I will instruct my Client to execute another backup. Im making the assumption then that this is not a Firebird issue but rather just the luck of the draw when backing up the database?

You need to create another backup or revert to the last good copy. Also you can try our IBBackupSurgeon tool, which is the only tool to save data from corrupted backups - it reads backup at low level and extract data to the new database.
