Good idea, Helen. I hadn't, but wrote a test program. In this test program I failed to reproduce the problem I described, whereas I successfully reproduced it in Database Workbench (DBW). Hence, I guess that what I discovered when using DBW to try to reproduce a problem in one of my programs, was actually a new problem unrelated to the possible problem I was investigating in my program. So, hopefully this is not a problem with Firebird after all (I've continued the issue in the issue tracker for DBW). Set
