It should work fine with any bitness, something it wrong on your side. Did you install two FB instances properly, without common root? Are both security2.fdb copies are also in ODS11? Nevertheless, I see no point in having both 64-bit and 32-bit Firebird on the same host, one version (usually, 64-bit) is enough. Just make sure that two versions of fbclient / gds32 are present.
