I already tried using  host name and ip address. There is no difference.

1 - Please don't top-post/reply.

2 - Are you using IP address or host name for connection?

3 - If using host name, have you considered/tested the performance of host
name to IP address (DNS) resolution?

4 - You might also want to perform general network performance testing,
comparing the timings for copying a large file to/from network location
between the XP and new machines. Some NICs have problems with
"auto-negotiate" network speed settings, you may need to 'hard set' the
correct network connection speed value.
