Start with the Interbase 6.0 "Getting Started", section "Migrating databases to dialect 3" (page 39). You can download it from http://www.firebirdsql.org/en/reference-manuals/ Biggest difference is some keywords, changes with DATE (in dialect 3 it doesn't contain a time portion, you need TIMESTAMP in dialect 3) and strings should be quoted with single quotes.
