At one of our customer sites we have problems with a database file which
is much larger than expected.
Our DDL is the same on all customer sites and for this customer the file
is more than two times larger than comparable databases at other
customer sites.
Now we want to find out what is causing the differences.
Which is the best way to find the exact cause of the filesize?
When i look at mon$pages from mon$database i can see that the pages are
more than two times higher as in the compared databases. (Page-Size is
always the same)
But when i look in the table-statistics (in IBExpert) the page count of
all of our tables is much lower than mon$pages. (the usual value that is
more or less the same as in the compared databases).
We are using Firebid 2.5.2 on Windows Server.
All was measured directly after a restore of the databases.
Can someone give me a hint how to determine the cause for the big filesize?
