Thank you for your help and pointing me the right direction. Since I was able to connect with FlameRobin, I pushed ahead down the path of connecting from the laptop. I was able to connect and get a SELECT to run. It turns out that, unlike my other ODBC scripts, for Firebird I had to add the hostname to the database name (even though the hostname is also included in the call to DBY->connect.) Thanks, and I hope someone out there finds this helpful.
