You can use the ISO-8601 format: 'yyyy-MM-dd', optionally with explicit typing: DATE'yyyy-MM-dd' Note that Firebird also supports some other local formats (like MM-dd-yyyy, MM/dd/yyyy and dd.MM.yyyy), but I think it is better to stick to ISO-8601. Mark -- Mark Rotteveel
