I see much of the same happening. It started with the occasional
message in December 2014, but in May it got much more frequent (with
abnormal termination and restarts).
This is a Win2008R2 server with 64bit Firebird 2.5.1.
The server was rebooted, but that did not fix the problem.
This server has been running since 2012 (with the same set of
databases) with hardly a problem. The fbclient on remote clients
could be anything from version 1.5 to 2.5.
Last night we upgraded to latest Fb 2.5.4 (reboot after installing a
number of Windows updates).
The databases (sizes: 2GB and 16GB) were backuped with Fb/2.5.1 and
restored with Fb/2.5.4. No hickups.
The databases are accessed with internet connections (in addition to
the local network).
It looked fine for a short time...
