Hi,

I have a problem and my ideas to solve it are getting to an end. Hopefully you
can help me.

When I try to make a backup with nbackup on our customer’s system (Windows
Server 2016 – Firebird 3.0.3) we get the following message, while we are
connected to the database with the “IBExpert” at the same time. When we are not
connected, the backup will run.

 d:\SYSTEM\Firebird_WORK\nbackup.exe -U SYSDBA -P mypassword -B 0
D:\DATENBANK\SHS.FDB D:\DATENBANK\SHS_Backup_Work_0_Test.nbk
 [
 PROBLEM ON "attach database".
I/O error during "CreateFile (open)" operation for file
"D:\COMED\DATENBANK\SHS.FDB"
-Error while trying to open file
-The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process.
 SQLCODE:-902

When I try it on my local machine there is no problem even when I access the
database with the IBExpert and make a nbackup at the same time. I double
checked the settings in the IBExpert and they seem to be identical. I am not
sure what the cause of the problem is: Firebird, IBExpert, some settings
(Firebird, IBExpert), perhaps the Anti-Virus software…
The Firebird Log does not give any hints.

Does anyone have an idea what I can do or what I can check to solve this
issue.

 Best regards
 Nils Andernach
