Exactly why do you want to copy your Firebird database? In most cases the proper action will be to backup the database through gbak or maybe nbackup instead of copying the database file. However, if for some reason you really need/want to backup by manually copying the file, then you should change the database to backup mode, copy the file and disable backup mode.
