Hi dimitry-I got your email re: FB not supported in MinGW. I like that 
environment. In the short term I have read there is support for postgresql in 
MinGW. I will try that for now. If I find myself in Linux again I'd like to 
revisit firebird. I will try to compile postgresql in MinGW on 05-07-19. 
Actually I will try out a mingw package. I don't know until I try it out! Thnx
