Your question about modifying the build of Firebird would probably be more on-topic on the firebird-devel mailing list than on firebird-support. However, have you considered using docker to run Firebird (eg using https://hub.docker.com/r/jacobalberty/firebird) instead of trying to compile/install from sources yourself? Mark -- Mark Rotteveel
