Hi list, hi John,

I think this thread is not about a single issue and there is no need
to discuss them here. We all know how to file a bug report for a
single reproducable problem.

The point is, that since Firebug 1.2, or Firefox 3 respectively,
Firebug just doesn't work correctly any more.

There is no single problem when doing this or that. The situation is
rather like everytime there is a rendering problem, I suspect that
Firebug is the cause. And everytime I use Firebug heavily I get
rendering problems in all of my Firefox windows. Recently I changed a
padding in Firebug and suddenly there was no padding around no
elements in none of my Firefox windows.

When I read about nick's problems, I knew EXACTLY what he was talking
about, even though he was not talking about a specific problem at all.
Of course, this is not the way a developer should talk, but in this
case I am really really sure we are talking about the same problems.
And all my co-workers can sadly confirm those problems.

So, John, if you really don't know what we are talking about, there
must be a fundamental difference between our installation and your
installation.
Maybe you are testing with a freshly installed firefox on a freshly
booted PC (problems seem to aggravate with longer Windows and Firefox
run time) but this is not the way it works. Probably you are using
Firebug for work, too, so how can it be that you observe absolutely no
problems?

So this is no accusation. I'm sure you are doing your very best to
make Firebug bug-free (no pun intended) but whatever changes were
necessary to make Firebug run in Firefox 3, they had very very bad
side effects.

Best regards,
André
