Please use URL 'about:crashes' and post the URL of the crash reporter
pages.

Unfortunately the problem is very likely a result of either an
interaction between Firebug and another extension or between Firebug
and something in your Firefox profile. (Since so many people have been
successful with Firebug in 3.0).

To investigate:

1) Establish a way to crash for sure, eg a certain URL or operation.
2) Create a new Firefox profile (http://kb.mozillazine.org/
Profile_Manager) and install Firebug 1.2.1
   * Do you still crash? If yes post the new URL and open a
bugzilla.mozilla.org report (I can help with that).
3) Start adding your other addons and testing the crash until you can
find the combo that fails.
