Daniel, Based on the symptoms I suggest that that you create a new Firefox profile and install Firebug 1.2.1: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
The bug list is http://code.google.com/p/fbug/issues/list but there are no reports of these kinds of problems.
