While you are welcome to try 3.1 we aren't using it and we're not
fixing bugs related to it yet.

You probably want 3.0.4pre,
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla1.9.0/
That has the new API supported by Firebug 1.3
