I guess you are having the same problem I was having.  I've read
through a zillion ' console not defined' posts here but what was
resolved my problem was I clicked the console cropdown and shose
'disable'.  THEN it shows 3 checkboxes for 'Console', 'Script', and
'Net'.  Once I tick Console and Script and click 'Enable selected
panels' everything starts working.  But it doesn't seem to 'stick' so
that I have to do it each time I open Firefox.
