Are you using a different firefox theme than the default one? I have Ubuntu intrepid (Gnome WM) with all the updates and FB is working OK. >From what I can see in the screenshot, the firefox theme isn't the default for Firefox in Ubuntu (at least not in Gnome), so your problem may be related to that.
