I am considering using firebug as a starting point for an extension that is not firebug related, but could use some of the firebug's functionality. I want to have the extension inherit from firebug but appear as a new stand alone extension, not inside firebug. The extension has to be able to coexist with a firebug installed on the same browser and not conflict with each other. Is this possible? How do I get a stripped down version of Firebug to live in its own namespace?
