Thanks. On the good news - i found the directory for 1.2 and got the
older release and installed that on FF3.0.5 and seems to be much
better - back to how it was plus some...:-))

On the other hand i tried the new profile you suggested, got a clean
looking FF and installed only Firebug 1.3. No improvement - still see
3X as many line numbers and js that is repetitive, in the Script
window.

Well for now i can keep going with 1.2, but hopefully at some later
point i will try upgrading again.

I should mention that my cgi app emits Xml which is then xsl-formed
into the html for each page - in case that may have something to do
with the issues i see...
