Hi, John. Thanks for the reply. (sorry mine is ..ahem... on the delay)
re: "Open Location" I beg your pardon, but for my thick skull... I'd like to verify that i understand, as explained... If a URL were entered via that theoretical "Firebug -> [Location Bar / URL-Open-dialogue ]", the contents of the "new" URI would then load also in the primary browser viewport, by nature of the tool's [firebug's] relationship to the browser? i believe it is not possible, as you explained, but to rephrase the advantage i envision, i might mumble to myself (schizo that way, ya know...), something like: "okay, here's my .js from site/ 'doc-A' , now let me quickly view another-- just in Firebug (while leaving a "current doc" in the browser, as loaded upon launching Firebug 5 mins ago) -- i can view how this block of functions (lines 45 - 72) differs in the previous .js version, which i believe to exist in [..::click::...::click::...browsing local filesys...::click::...ah-ha-- there it is- in 'doc-00'!"... you get the idea, i'm sure. but that's a no go, eh? oh well. it's all good, either way. it's still the coolest grunge of the '90's. the feel good movie of the summer, the most whitening white n freshest breath, n all that good stuff!... pie, js On 12/14/08, John J Barton <[email protected]> wrote: > > Firebug does not work with files or source generally.
