I have FF3.0.7 + firebug 1.3 the majority of my firefox downloads stop with "A few seconds remaining" displayed in progress bar display.
A discussion group thread pointed to fireBug as the culprit, indeed if I deactivate it my downloads seems to more consistently complete.
