After enabling/disabling all of my other addons, I'm able to verify that Firebug by itself is not showing multiple copies of the data. When I enabled the addon Split Browser, version 0.5.2008112201, the response data was multiplied.
For now, I've disabled the Split browser. Thanks for taking a look into the issue.
