I've been trying to fix some loading speed problems in my website, and Firebug helped me to find some of the problems, but there's something I still don't understand. Sorry, I'm a total newbie with all this, so I hope my questions don't sound to dumb. When I check what's the loading time for every request with Firebug, in the Net tab, a lot of things are listed but all of them together only take like a couple of seconds to load, except for the first one, "GET web", which takes around 20 seconds to load. It easy for me to know where the problem comes from when I see the file listed (something.js, whatever.php, etc...), but the "GET web" thing only points to the main URL. I don't really now how to interpret the response and request headers information, so I can't really tell what's the problem.
What exactly means that the 'GET web' thing takes so long? I really appreciate any help with this issue.
