This crash is probably not related to Firebug. Nothing on the crash stack relates to Firebug and the signature of the crash site matches the second highest crasher for 3.0.8: http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/topcrasher/byversion/Firefox/3.0.8
As you say the crash seems random.
