Ok so my guess is that you have some extension to Firefox installed
that is interfering with Firebug.
We have some hints and links to help you install Firebug in a new
Firefox profile to verify that this may be the problem:

If you install Firebug in a new profile and my examples work but you
still have problems with your pages, then you may have found a bug in
Firebug. We'd like to follow up in that case.
