Someone addressed this later in the thread, the problem for me is that
the minimized state is not preserved across loads.

This is the biggest problem for me, I see a bug has been opened:

Because it's taking up a bunch of space and keeps popping up. The
"stay minimized" thing would be great, I see that is logged here:

I guess that wasn't an issue for me in 1.3 because I only had to
activate firebug once. We have a dynamic URL structure, so 1.4's URL-
specific memory is not helpful, as it doesn't see example.com/item/1
and example.com/item/2 as being the same page. If I navigate to a
page on our site and notice that it's slow, an AJAX call failed, etc,
it's nice to be able to say "well what happened?" rather than hope it
will happen again after activating firebug and reloading.

"I don't mind Firebug's overhead, I'm good with it being active all
the time, every page, just in case I want to debug a page" is my
personal motto. It's even better when it's every page on a domain,
which is why the old activation model was pretty ideal for me.

Thanks for the feedback,
Al
