Does it happen if you install Firebug in a new Firefox profile?  This
kind of effect should not depend upon the particular URL. But if some
call was failing between the time you click and the refresh happens,
then you would get the result you see.

If a new Firefox profile allows Firebug to work properly, you might be
able to learn more about the problem by using the tracing version
(1.4X).
