Hi, I have a similar problem: I can see the Tools->Firebug menu, but it won't open. I can right-click the Firebug icon in lower right corner, but no Firebug actions can be initiated.
I have re-installed a number of times, trying different combinations of Firefox (3.0.12, 3.0.13, 3.5.2) and Firebug (1.4.2, 1.5 beta). I have also tried the suggested workaround of making a new profile. Everything with the same negative result. Before all this mess started, I did have Firefox 3.0.12 and Firebug 1.4.x working perfectly fine, but after I started upgrading Firefox I havent been able to bring it back to live! I hope someone have a good suggestion?
