(I'm running Firebug 1.4.2 on Firefox 3.0) Net Panel breaks the load time of a resource into the following sections:
DNS Lookup Connecting Queuing Waiting for response Receiving Data I have searched the web to find the exact meanings of each of these, but to no avail. This is what I am currently thinking: DNS Lookup - seems obvious Connecting - I would have guessed that this is the time taken to connect to the web server, however: Queuing - elsewhere on the web this is explained as sitting in a "connection queue" of some kind in Firefox. This is rather confusing, as you would expect the Connecting to happen after the queuing. Waiting for response - I guess this is the time from sending the HTTP request to the web server to receiving the first byte of the response? Receiving Data - I guess this is the time from receiving the first byte of the response until we receive the last byte of the response? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Firebug" group.
