Thank you again--I did try the install with the fresh profile and
experienced the same problem; I also talked to other developers within
my organization and confirmed that they are also experiencing the
same.

But coming up with a publicly accessible test case is proving a bit
more difficult: it doesn't necessarily appear to be occurring with
breakpoints that are executed during load, but with breakpoints that
are in code executed after load. My frustration is that it all worked
wonderfully under the version of firebug (1.03, I believe?) and
firefox 2 we were all running/developing with for the past several
years, and upgrading to ff3 and the new versions of firebug have not
been as smooth as desired. :(

Once the current project is under more control, hopefully at least I
will have some more time to help you all out and track this down. I
think that firebug is a wonderful plugin; we wouldn't have been able
to develop what we have without it.
