Dear, I have just installed Firebug as an add-on to Firefox 3.5.3, following the MDC homepage recommendation that it would make my life much easier.
I want to use it to debug javascripts. After one hour, I still haven't figured out how to use it. I am used to programming although at amateur level. I therefore apologize if my terminology is not accurate. I would have hoped to find a tutorial on your homepage, but I haven't. The help is no help, it's a pointer at the documentation pages which have a more "marketing" feel than offering any real help. So far for help. I don't understand whether I have to reload the page for Firebug to "run" through the script. When I mark a line for a breakpoint, it marks the line with a bright red dot. Then I expect I have to reload the page for Firebug to intervene (note that I had to intuite this, because there is no "run" button in Firebug, and no documentation explains this). At reload, Firebug opens and I don't see anything in the Watch window. I have occasionally seen the complete list of properties etc.. but I'm not able to reproduce that behavior. The "run" button is never activated. I see only a "pause" sign, and I'm never able to figure out whether it paused, where, and F8 doesn't help. You understand that I'm really unhappy. Please provide some guidance. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Firebug" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
