Although adding "console.debug = function() {}" would certainly work,
it would have to be code that was in my application and that each of
our developers would have to mess with independently.  I was hoping
for just an option in Firebug that I could set and that would persist
between uses of Firebug.

I'll file an issue and see if it's something that would be added to
Firebug.
