Dear all, I work for the website WhoIsHostingThis.com, which is a service that allows users to look up the true hosting company of any site (as opposed to guessing based on IP range as most similar offerings do).
I was recently in contact with Joe Hewitt about the possibility of integrating our API into Firebug so that your users can run a one- click look-up of who is hosting the site they are inspecting. Joe said that he agreed it was a really interesting prospect for Firebug to consider integrating our free API, but explained to me that he was no longer handling this kind of issue. In short, Joe recommended that I make contact with the working group to see if there is any interest in what we do and how it could be integrated into a new iteration of Firebug. A select few other FF add- ons are working with Who Is Hosting This data and so far I am pleased to say the integration has proved very quick and the value to their end users is tangible. Perhaps someone could get back to me to discuss this at your convenience?
