It's doing almost the same thing but the legend to the right of "Edit"
under the menu bar now says "HTMLBodyElement < HTMLHtmlElement" which
is different. Other than that it still goes directly to the DOM tab
and switching to the HTML tab shows an empty pane.  BTW, the restart
to install Firebug 1.5b9 also implemented a waiting update to FF to
3.5.7.

I've just realised that another minor problem I've been ignoring for
ages might be relevant: Whenever I leave the cursor static for a few
seconds, a small rectangle will appear at the bottom of the cursor.
It's about 1/2 the cursor width & about 1/2 that height. Under some
circumstances (just tried to reproduce it & failed) there will be a
bigger box with the Alt text from an element I've recently hovered
over or clicked (not sure which yet), I'm beginning to think this FF
installation is corrupt & it's time for a clean install or at least a
new profile - but that's such a nuisance. Anyway, one step at a
time...
