I encountered similar problems with Firebug 1.4.5, FF 3.5.3, OS X
10.5.8.
I worked with the Dojo Toolkit and tried to expand the dojo item in
the DOM tab. That took about 15 seconds. In my case I could solve it
by deactivating Console -> Strict Warnings.
But my problem is also somehow connected to CSS. Only loading dojo.js
without any CSS Files doesn't cause the problem of long waiting for
the item to expand. But as soon as I load dojo.css, dijit.css and
tundra.css the problem appears.
