The Firebug source code is available under the license shown: http://code.google.com/p/fbug/source/browse/branches/firebug1.6/license.txt I'll leave the exact consequences to your lawyer, but BSD is a 'liberal' license, meaning that it does not require you to do specific things if you copy the source. To answer your question directly then, the source code license allows you to copy it where you like. That's the 'open' in open source! The "Firebug" name is a trademark of Mozilla. It is my intent to use this trademark to discourage publication of debugger programs under the name "Firebug" unless the Firebug Working Group agrees. It's unfair for someone to use the Firebug name built up by so many people working hard to create top quality system. Again to your question directly, it is my understanding that the trademark disallows your use of the name "Firebug" for debugging systems. That's the "source" part of open source ;-). The Firebug team invites you to participate in the project. I don't know why it would be necessary to copy the source to another repository. jjb > > Anyone? ^^ > > Cheers, > David -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Firebug" group.
