Currently, you can check the version in the extension manager page:
chrome://extensions/

<chrome://extensions/>I'll add the version number to some UI element
(probably the Firebug
icon on the upper-left corner) in the next version.

Meanwhile, you can also check also the version/revision by typing in
the command line:

console.firebuglite
or
Firebug.version
or
Firebug.revision
