I would be interested to know what instructions you used. The green
checkmark in the status bar is a couple of years old.

Try Firebug 1.6a18, http://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug/1.6X. This
version avoids a bug in firefox caused by old inspector.dll.

Let us know how it goes.
