Hello, this is a little OT, but perhaps someone is interested in this...
We designed XML3D as an extension to HTML to provide interactive 3D graphics embedded in HTML and the DOM. XML3D also uses CSS and JavaScript. We modified a well-known Mozilla Browser (based on Shiretoko) and also Chromium to support this extension. There is also a WebGL/JS renderer. Modifying the DOM with Firebug manipulates the 3D scene. For the non-JS versions, even the inspect functionality works on the 3D objects in the DOM.
