My application issues xmlHttpRequests, which I see using XHR filter in the Net tab of firebug. Expanding the request displays Params, Headers, Response, Cache, JSON. I'm confused by the presence of the Cache sub-panel.
getfirebug.com/network says that responses from the cache are in a lighter grey. Is that the whole entry, including the method, location, response etc, or just the timeline's bar (the illustration only shows the timeline, but my bars are so skinny, that I can't tell what color they are). The documentation at http://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Net_Panel#Cache_Info says Some files are fetched from the browse cache. They can be recognised by the response status "304 Not Modified". The Cache Tab includes the following information:... yet, I have Cache information on requests with a 200 OK response. if the response is not being retrieved from the cache, should I have a cache tab under the request? If so, what is it telling me, stats on what is being put into the cache, perhaps? If so, then why is fetch count > 0? in my case, I also see these requests using fiddler, so I'm confident that a request with a 200 response code is going over the wire. Can you please help clarify what firebug is telling me? I am using 1.7.3 in firefox 3.6.18 Thanks, ed -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Firebug" group.
