There's a usability bug here. I saw the firebug icon in the top right but because it has a drop down arrow I only thought to click that, rather than the bug icon itself. Now I click the bug icon I see firebug panel no problems.
I think the problem is that it looks like clicking the firebug icon will have the same action as the drop down arrow. I'd definitely add a "Show firebug panel" option to the menu and revisit the button design.
